Program: SME Instrument – Incentive System for Research and Technological Development
Beneficiaries: Companies of any legal form that are entities that carry out an artisanal activity or other activities on an individual or family basis, companies of persons or associations that regularly carry out an economic activity.
Covering area: Mainland
Percentage of financing rate: Between 25% and 70%. Lisbon with a maximum of 50%.
Surcharges:
+ 25% for industrial research R&D
+ 10% for medium-sized companies and + 20% for small or micro companies
+ 15% if the project is in cooperation with companies independent of each other, or no company has more than 70% of eligible expenses on the project, or there is at least one SME in R&D, etc.
+ 10% if non-business entity with R&D
Refundable or non-refundable incentive: NRI
Maximum funding limit to request: up to 1M, 100% NRI; > 1M, 75% NRI, 25% RI without interest. (Fund allocation: 3.2M)
